There is no fixed renewal date. It is a standing duty that applies whenever the rules below are triggered, for example at the start of a tenancy.

Private Tenancies (NI) Order 2006, Arts 5A to 5C, as amended by the Private Tenancies Act (NI) 2022 from 1 April 2023. A deposit may not exceed one month's rent. Protect it in an approved scheme (TDS Northern Ireland or mydeposits Northern Ireland) within 28 days of receiving it, and give the tenant the prescribed information within 35 days. Fixed penalty up to 3 times the deposit.
